Joe!

Joe's birthday card - quick and simple!

I've used some diagonally striped patterned card from a pack from The Range, a strip of red washi tape and tag and letter dies for the name. I've added some red pearl embellishments and the greeting is done in Hobo font in Publisher.

Very simple but I like cards for men to be quite plain.

Puppy Love

Happy Friday - and it's the final Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK until Christmas which means an extra day off work for most folk!

There's a new challenge over at Simply Papercraft today ...

As usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to join in. Today's sponsor is the fabulous Bugaboo - a lovely place to pick up some crazy images and fun digital stamps...

This is what I have created using an image kindly provided by Bugaboo......

Isn't she gorgeous!!

I've coloured the image using pro-markers and used some glittery patterned paper from a pack I got at Lidl. I  made a greeting in Publisher using The Urban Way font and embellished with some more flowers fussy cut from the paper. Finally, no card is complete without a gem or pearl - I've added black flat-backed gems to the flower centres.

I've entered this card into the challenges at:

The Crafty Addicts #39 - anything goes/girly

Polka Dots and Daisies

Today's card is for my Niece, Lucy who is turning 9 later this month. She'll be in Disney World in Florida for her birthday so I needed to make this early...

I've used lots of dies on this one! I was inspired by a card I made a few months ago using a Crafts-U-Print design. I wanted to make something that looks a bit more 'handmade' though. The blue and lemon polka dot papers are from my ridiculous stash of paper pads and I've used peel-offs for the name.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #63 - anything goes
Allsorts Challenge #428 - name or number (both!)
Send A Smile 4 Kids - anything goes
Cardz 4 Gals #53 - pretty pastels

Fabulous 50

Today's card is for a friend of mine from work who is 50 today. She has always been a bit of a Goth - her wedding dress was black and purple - so I thought this would be the ideal colour scheme for her card...

I've used a selection of fancy dies cut in plain purple card and black rose patterned card. The central die cut in white linen cards really pops against the background. The number are cut in the same card used for the background and I've embellished with some purple coloured gems. To add a touch of shine I've also added some mirri card bits cut from a corner die.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Christmas Bauble

I've spent most of this week enjoying the World Athletics Championships on the TV and I've taken the opportunity to make some basic Christmas cards for the family while I'm watching...

These papers and topper came with a very old edition of Making Cards. It's nothing fancy design wise but but I've added a bit of bling with a gold gem on the big bauble and white glittery highlights on the smaller baubles. In real life it looks much shinier than it does in the photo as I've used gold glitter paper for the matting. I made a batch of 5 the same which took about an hour and a half - very quick!!

I'm entering this quick make into the challenges at:

Merry Christmas Challenge #29 - anything goes
Glitter n Sparkle #251 - monochrome
ABC Christmas Challenge - Q is for quick
The Holly And Ivy Christmas Challenge #12 - anything goes
Crafty Friends Challenge #63 - Christmas in July

#SK8

Another card for a 12 year old - this time with a skateboard theme... or to get down with the kids #sk8!!

I really do need to get more masculine stash! I struggled again to find a suitable image but as always Google is your friend. I printed 3 copies of this pre-coloured image and decoupaged bits to add some depth.

The backing paper is from a really old Trimcraft pack and I created the greeting on the computer. The silver letters and numbers are from a pack from The Range. I've also used a Memory Box die to create the 'tread' effect - the actual die is rectangle shaped but I rough cut it in two for a more 'urban/grafitti' look.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Craftoholics R Us - die cuts
Crafty Creations #347 - anything goes
Sisterhood of Crafters - boys to men (2nd entry)
Crafting By Designs - August anything goes
Paper Creator - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks #362 - masculine
